Euphoa platyclada - Euphorbia platyclada is a fleshy succulent plant with weird flattened mottled red-brown stems radiating from a raiseable heavy rootstock... nothing green about it. The branches are very interesting, unique, ugly, with an irregular scab like texture, and look dead, or at the very least zombified. These branches are splayed out with fingers dangling like dead weights. Truly an oddity, this is a plant only an enthusiast can love... looks like it's dead all the time and so pathetic looking it makes many people laugh when they first see it. Actually, this is a very interesting collector's succulent plant when grown into a specimen which does not take too long. It grows in mats in dry deciduous Alluaudia forests. It is camouflaged to disappear on the forest floor. Origin: Madagascar South-west Madagascar. Growing in a 6 inch pot. @ $15.00 - 1 in stock

All the others had yellowish-green, brownish, and even black flowers. They all had thick caudex like bases. - 1 @ $30.00

Euphorbia schoenlandii - The stems are beautifully marked with conical tubercles and persistent peduncles remain on the stems. The cyathia are yellow and sweetly scented. Growing in a 6 inch pot. - sold

Euphorbia stellata - It is a small geophytic species, both a caudiciform and medusoid Euphorbia. It is very similar in body shape to the closely related Euphorbia squarrosa. Caudex-tuberose rootstock. The short, conical to truncate stem merges with the thick turnip-shaped root forming a woody caudex 5-15 cm tall and 6-7 cm in diameter or more. It is an underground water-storage organ so it is very resistant to drought. In cultivation the tuberous rootstock is raised over the ground so that it can be seen and is especially cultivated for its looks. Architecturally it is a real stunner. It grows amongst grass and pebbles often grow fully exposed with the thick subterranean tuber, which embeds itself firmly in rocky crevices. As the name suggests, the branches radiate out from the tuber and lay prostrate against the ground. Eastern Cape - districts of Port Elizabeth, Albany and Peddie, South Africa Fat carrot like roots that can be raised. Showy colorful flat stems. Growing in 4 1/2 pots. - 8 @ $35.00 each
