   Gerrardanthus macrorohizus - Family: Cucurbitaceae - The Bigfoot, Gerrardanthus macrorrhizus, is a perennial climber, expanded at the base into a succulent pumpkin-like caudex, usually about 30-40 cm in diameter. The smooth, alternate leaves are ivy-shaped, shiny and prominently veined. The Bigfoot has small, dark brownish-yellow orchid-like flowers. There are male and female plants. If a female flowers is fecundated, it is followed by pendulous fruit, which resembles a sea cucumber, and opens at the lower tip to release a number of large, papery, winged seeds.  Operculicarya decaryi - Family-Anacardiaceae - Known as elephant tree or jabily, is a thick stemmed succulent plant species in the family Anacardiaceae, named after the botanical collector Raymond Decary. It is found in Madagascar and is also grown as a bonsai tree. It has small red flowers in winter.

   Raphionacme flanaganii - Faimly: Asclepiadaceae - Originating in Africa, Raphionacme is an unusual caudiciform plant for succulent collectors. The top growth produces vines that can reach 3’ long over the summer months and the leaves have slightly fuzzy undersides. The large, raised caudex stores water and nutrients. Once the active growing season is over, you can cut back the vines and reduce water for the winter months. Small, sweet-smelling flowers appear in summer and attract bees which pollinate the species.
